Unique bathing methods of Kusatsu

Setting "Spring Quality First" as its motto, the quality of Kusatsu Onsen's water has been widely recognized since ancient times. More recently, Kusatsu has been identified as one of Japan’s top three locations for hot spring water. With its therapeutic benefits, Kusatsu’s water is said to "cure everything but love sickness" in the traditional Kusatsu folk song.

Before starting Jikan-yu, one is required to do "Yumomi" to cool the water. This also acts as a warm-up exercise for the high-temperature spa treatment. Repeat this procedure four times a day.
