Mt. Shirane
Three crater lakes are on the summit of Shirane-san (2,160 m) -Yugama, Mizugama and Kogama. The center lake, Yugama, has mysterious emerald green water creating a contrast against the white moon-like surface of the mountains around it. At a pH of 1.2, the water of Lake Yugama is the most acidic in the world. A lot of tourists visit the popular spot year-round. Take a stroll through the air with a ropeway in the summer and helicopter tour in the winter. Both are highly recommended. |

Onioshidashi Park was created after the great eruption of Mt. Asama, one of the most famous volcanoes in Japan. A statue of Sho-kanzeon Bosatsu comforts the souls of victims of the great eruption of Mt. Asama. Kannondo temple creates unique scenery in harmony with the rich nature of Mt. Asama Highland.
