Skiing

Nature of Kusatsu: Skiing Skiing in Kusatsu has a very long history; Kusatsu Ski Resort was open in 1914 to hold the first domestic ski championship, only three years after the arrival of skiing in Japan. Kusatsu can be considered a pioneer of ski resorts with the introduction of the first ski school in 1931 and the first chair lift facility in Tenguyama in 1948.

Offering extensive views with more than 900m vertical intervals and powder snow quality, the dynamic 8,000 m-long ski resort is for every skier from beginners to the experienced.
